The family news which we are about to report is what we have herd from the "horse's mouth" (relatively speaking). If there are any errors or omissions, let us know and we will rectify it.
The reason for this page is to let everyone know what is happening in each of our families...without being too intrusive. Let us know if you don't want to be talked about.

Congratulations to Mikaela, Matt and family, who bought the property next to Jana's camp (aka: the Hodgins Camp). Papa put an offer in to purchase that property over 50 years ago, but the owner refused to sell. Some things that are meant to be just take a little time.

Sooo I don’t know if you guys remember me saying last month that “I did a thing…” and asked for your help to get me on a rad roadtrip in Northern Quebec? Well, thanks to you wonderful people I will be one of the 6 participants on this super cool experience with Tourisme Eeyou Istchee Baie-James. It still doesn’t quite seem real, but it’s definitely going to be the experience of a lifetime. Good thing I have Rosetta Stone French, gah, only a month to prepare! So a great big huge THANK YOU for all the wonderful support you guys showed me and my wild idea! I swear, I'll mellow out one day.
Congratulations to Dean and Karen, who had a baby girl, Nova, on February 13. (8 lbs 1 oz.)

On Thursday I did one of the hardest things I have ever done. I literally did something that is my “biggest fear” and something that I had never thought I would ever be able to actually go through with. I rappelled down the outside of the Hyatt Hotel in Vancouver (36 stories tall). I love heights and I had no problem being on the roof or even looking around while I was on the rope. It’s the sensation of dropping and then bouncing on the rope that makes me feel icky, especially when being so high up. But I did it. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely not. Will I ever do it again? Not in a million years!! But I knew that by doing it I raised money to grant wishes for kids who are going through the hardest times in their lives, a million times harder than my irrational psychological fear of falling. I thought about “my kiddos” on the way down, I thought about their struggles and I thought about their joys, and I reminded myself that what I was doing was going to help them, so centimeter by centimeter I lowered myself down that darn rope. I can't believe I did it, and I'm so glad it's over.
Congratulations Monique..
